Week 2

So Week 2 has come and gone and I am still going. Working with the kids has been great even though I have been out of the class a lot.

It was great to work with Saunil. He has given us some great ideas for activities that will be long term. I have shown the Google presentation and briefly explained to them that they will have an input into this too. They are very keen. We will work on this as part of our writing programme for Week 3.

I have had some input from colleagues about organising my Google drive. I have realised that sign ins are very important. I will be using my school login most of the time. Now I understand. All my old documents are still in my gmail login but easy to access.

Teacher Dashboard

I have just been looking at teacher dashboard. I have pushed out a letter to all the children in Room 78 (Rms 7 and 8) about myself. Mrs Raisin has done the same thing. The children will be asked to reply to these letters in the next few days. We have yet to show the children how to retrieve these documents.

I have completed the slide in the Google collaborative presentation. I was so impressed that I showed the children and explained that they will be asked to create and personalise their own slide to add to the presentation.

I have discovered that my greatest IT need at this time is to organise my Drive so I can easily find documents I am using. I will book an hour with Saunil to help me do this.

GAFE PLD

I have spent a day with Saunil looking at GAFE. It is very exciting and I can see how the many components of Google could be used with the kids in the class. Keep watching this space for further developments.
